Namaste! Welcome!
Welcome to my website! I hope you'll enjoy learning about me and my expeditions. In July 2010, I broke the speed record for completing the 50 High Points in the 50 States. We finished in 43 days, 3 hours and 51 minutes from the summit of Denali in Alaska to the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii.
In April 2010, I completed an ice climbing and training expedition in the Alaska Range. In the past two years, I climbed 14 of Colorado's "Fourteeners," in eight days to raise awareness for Pulmonary Hypertension and summited Aconcagua (22,841 ft) in Argentina, Mount Elbrus (18,510 ft) in southern Russia and Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft) in Tanzania. I also trekked to Nepal's Everest Base Camp and climbed Kala Patar (18,550 ft).
Current news and media links can be found below and also in my Press Room.

For the first time, Matt Moniz and his climbing partner and dad, Mike Moniz, are taking two different paths. Matt will be leading a group of four eighth graders, including his twin sister, and two mothers, including his own, on a trek through Nepal which will include visiting a Nepalese school, a stop at Everest Base Camp and a summit attempt on Kala Patthar a smaller Himalyan peak at 5,545 m (18,192 ft).
Mike Moniz will be heading to Nepal to tackle Mt. Everest and Lohtse, the tallest and fourth tallest mountains in the world, respectively. If all goes well, Mike will attempt Cho Oyo, a third 8,000 meter peak following the other two.
Climb7 will be tracking the two expeditions separately:
